It\u2019s a tiny town that was made famous during the gold rush\u2026even though it didn\u2019t have much gold. We spent the morning on the White Pass Scenic Railway \u2014 a 3ish hour train ride up the mountain to the Yukon and back.<\/li>\n<li>The afternoon brought sled dog puppies and a lesson for the kids in panning for gold. The puppies \u2014 and learning all about the Iditarod \u2014 were the highlight of the day!<\/li>\n<li>We had a SUNNY, warm day in Juneau. And we saw SO MANY! Our guide had a binder of photos of known whales and their tail patterns. We were able to match one of the whales we saw \u2014 she turned out to be Flame, one of the area\u2019s most active whales. She is also known as a Super Mom, having had at least 8 calves over her lifetime.<\/li>\n<li>After our awesome whale watching experience, we went on a hike through the rainforest. It was peaceful and gorgeous.<\/li>\n<li>The afternoon was spent having lunch, grabbing a salmon donut (Mike was the only one brave enough to try), and doing a little shopping.<\/li>\n<li>After dinner at Triton\u2019s on the ship, we sat outside our room and watched a whale breach about 20 times.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"
