Travelogue: Paris, Part 2

August 2022
Where We Stayed: Kimpton St. Honore Paris

We started the day with a lazy morning then headed to the Lourve.  I, a person who does not enjoy museums, geared up to go to the biggest museum in the world. #sendhelp  But Mike, knowing me well and being a thoughtful person, distilled the Lourve down to a 1.5 hours visit — making sure I got to see the highlights! Venus de Milo, Mona Lisa, Liberty Guiding the People, Winged Victory (Mike’s favorite – and I now understand why).  After we Lourve’d, we shopped and napped, then headed for dinner and drinks at a rooftop bar with views of the Eiffel Tower. Swoon!

The next day, the last day of our T-R-I-P, we started the day with a Hop On, Hop Off bus tour of the city — stopping at the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, and other assorted beautiful places.  Everything was beautiful in Paris.

We also decided, on a whim, to visit Sainte-Chapelle, which is a church in the middle of the French Supreme Court.  How’s that for separation of church and state? But the church has the most INCREDIBLE stained glass situation I’ve ever seen.  It was like being inside of a jewelry box.

After our time in church, we stopped for lunch — and Nutella and banana crepes.  We then hopped on the train to Montmartre / Sacré-Cœur.  The Montmartre experience was a little… intense.  But I’m glad we went!  We walked all the way back to our hotel, stopping at Le Chat Noir for happy hour cocktails and rest along the way.

Paris, you were magical, just like everyone said you would be.

LOL this was ridiculous
