Travelogue: Disney World 2024, Day 3

February 2024
Where We Stayed: The Contemporary

  • Day 3 brought us to Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, and Magic Kingdom — three parks in a day!
  • My mom hadn’t been to Hollywood Studios since Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story Land came to be — and she was very impressed by both.  Toy Story Land just feels like a warm hug from childhood. I drank my weight in Joffrey’s frozen cappuccinos and we had a nice relaxing day at the parks.
  • We didn’t really go on many rides on this trip because a) we didn’t plan ahead, b) we didn’t want to pay whatever extra fees they’re charging for Genie/Genie+, and c) we just wanted to hang out with each other all day, instead of standing in long lines. There’s no one right way to do the Disney parks — some people go on as many rides as possible, some people see all the shows and parades, and some people just want to be there, soaking up the happy and nostalgic atmosphere.
  • I did purchase a Pandora bracelet on this trip (something I never thought I’d do; since when am I into Pandora?!). I had a visceral, happy response when I saw that they were selling Mickey balloon charms, along with Dumbos. Denny. The entire bracelet that I got is a tribute to him — and how nearly all of my love for the parks stems from his love for me.
  • After our time at Hollywood Studios, we took a boat over to EPCOT and walked around for a bit.  We stopped for fish ‘n’ chips lunch in the UK and then made our way back to the monorail to head “home.”
  • Later that evening, I realized that my Pandora bracelet didn’t have a safety chain — so I walked over to the Pandora store at Magic Kingdom to purchase one.  That’s how I ended up at three parks in one day.

Oooof that sun is bright.

The day’s Loungefly!
Not the new Pandora bracelet, but instead my beloved Mickey balloons :)
Even the bathroom tile is precious and cute.
There it is! I love it so much.

Black and white. I couldn’t decide.
Monorail Lime back to the TTC
Monorail Orange back to the Contemporary
I can’t get over the awful orange carpet.
An evening walk through the Magic Kingdom. ‘Sup, Stitch?
“HOW MUCH for that balloon?”
