Travelogue: Danube River Cruise – Germany

October 2024
Tauck’s “Blue Danube” River Cruise

  • Our last leg of the river cruise portion of the trip was to Vilshofen, we were disembarked and took a bus to Regensburg, Germany.
  • Before we disembarked, we had a German-themed lunch on the ship, which was really cute and delicious.
  • Regensburg is the best-preserved medieval city in Germany, home to a parade that brings in 750 dachshunds, and just the cutest little town you ever did see!
  • Interestingly, Germany is the one country on this trip where people talked to me first in German versus English. Jeanne and I concluded that my German genes are strong and I must look the part.

One last view of our cozy room.

Bye! We loved you!

Dogs!

Germany is my vibe.

Oskar Schindler lived here for a period of time.

That yellow building is a hat shop. Queen Lizzy of England used to get all of her hats made there. Allegedly.

More dogs!

The biggest floof! Bye, Germany, you were great!
