Travelogue: Gulf Shores

February/March 2025
Where We Stayed: The Admiral

  • We needed a little breather from all the Mardi Gras’ing, so Mike and I took a few little day trips during our week in Mobile.  One day trip was to Pascagoula, MS to visit Jimmy Buffett’s childhood home. The other day trip was to Gulf Shores — with stops at Orange Beach, Flora-Bama, the Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, and Destin.
  • Hope you enjoy the photos!

A quiet morning before we head out and over to Mississippi.
Jimmy’s childhood home!

Me + my hermit crab friend.
A few days later, we headed to Gulf Shores — first stop being Buc-ee’s!

Doing the Lord’s work.
I love fountain soda in a Styrofoam cup.

essentials!!
Another tourist trap was next!

Time for a beach stop!

I named this bird Richard. Mike was terrified of Richard.

I am not a beach person. LOL.
Up next was Flora-Bama.
UGH.

We had to try the Bushwackers!
They were very, very good.

Mike had oysters, I had nachos.
I’m in two states at once!

Bras hanging from the ceiling.

The bathrooms were somethin’ else.
Rainbow cups.

A little naval aviation was up next, as we stopped in Pensacola.

*BOOP*

We then made the drive to Destin to end our day at Lulu’s, which was started by Jimmy Buffett’s sister.

The most perfect dinner of seafood gumbo.
Also stopped at a JoAnn Fabrics LOL
And a Margaritaville.

On our last day, we had a lot of time to kill before heading to the airport. We visited the very cute town of Fairhope, AL.

And we also stopped by the USS Alabama’s gift shop. :)
